Pakistani Internet Cost Comparison
How Expensive is Pakistani Internet Compared to the World?
When I recently analyzed the Global Broadband Price Comparison (2025), I was surprised to see Pakistan listed with a Price of $0.53 per Mbps, ranking among the top 10 countries for expensive internet. While U.A.E. leads at $4.31 per Mbps, followed by Ghana $2.58, Switzerland $2.07, and Kenya $1.54, Pakistan’s broadband cost still surpasses many other developing nations like Indonesia $0.41, South Africa $0.50, and even Canada $0.66. Observing Australia $1.05, Germany $1.04, and UK $0.36, it’s clear that infrastructure, market competition, and affordability play a major role in shaping these internet markets.
The Global Connectivity Gap is extreme, with UAE costing 400 times more than Romania $0.01. This difference between the most and least expensive internet markets highlights the challenges Pakistan faces in bridging digital access, broadband coverage, and reliable service. As someone who has observed telecom sectors closely, I notice that while inclusion in top 10 countries signals slow progress, the opportunity lies in enhancing infrastructure and ensuring lower costs without compromising education, communication, or business connectivity.
Addressing these challenges means Pakistan must focus on broader coverage, matched service, and affordable digital access. From Bangladesh $0.36 to Singapore $0.03, the global landscape shows that strong infrastructure, affordability, and competitive markets directly influence internet costs, making it essential for Pakistan to strategize for both urban and rural broadband improvements to stay relevant in the digital era.
