The Tarbela Dam water level has now reached its maximum storage capacity, leaving no space for more inflows. Heavy rainfall in the upper regions of Haripur has rapidly increased water levels. To manage the situation, authorities opened the dam’s spillways at 6 p.m. on Monday. Officials confirmed that the current discharge has surged to 250,000 cusecs.
The Haripur district administration issued strict safety warnings, urging residents to stay away from riverbanks and bridges. Deputy Commissioner Haripur stressed that citizens must not go near water channels, as the remains critical. He said the administration and rescue teams are on high alert and ready to respond to emergencies.
The dam authorities also appealed to locals to stay cautious and follow all necessary safety measures. Monitoring teams are keeping a close watch on the Tarbela Dam water level to ensure timely action if the situation worsens.
