Quick Identity Access for Flood Victims
The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has launched a NADRA fast-track CNIC drive in flood-hit districts of Swat and Buner. The initiative ensures quick identity access so that affected families can benefit from relief and support programs.
Mobile Vans for On-the-Spot Registrations
In partnership with the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP), NADRA has deployed mobile registration vans. These units are operating in Lundikass and Babuzai in Swat, along with several areas of Buner. As a result, displaced residents can obtain new CNICs on the spot. They can also process urgent registrations to qualify for government aid and social protection schemes.
Flood Impact and Humanitarian Assistance
Recent monsoon floods in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa displaced hundreds of families. Entire villages were submerged, and critical infrastructure was damaged. However, NADRA’s intervention is helping affected people regain access to identity services.
Moreover, humanitarian organizations like OneUmmah and Penny Appeal are supporting victims. They are distributing food packs, clean drinking water, and hygiene kits. This combined effort is providing much-needed relief to flood survivors.
NICOP Fee Revision for Overseas Pakistanis
In a separate announcement, NADRA revised the fees for the National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP). The change applies to citizens in Oman, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia.
Importantly, the NICOP is also available for family members of overseas Pakistanis. It confirms Pakistani nationality and provides access to essential services and benefits.
Strengthening Relief and Identity Access
Authorities believe the NADRA fast-track CNIC drive will play a vital role in rebuilding lives. By ensuring quick and reliable identity services, the initiative supports both short-term relief and long-term social protection.
