BOE has introduced a cutting-edge ADS Pro (IPS LCD) smartphone display that could dramatically raise the bar for budget devices. The new panel measures 6.74 inches with a resolution of 2720 × 1224 pixels—delivering around 443 ppi for sharp visuals that rival premium smartphones.
What sets this screen apart is its variable refresh rate of 120Hz or 144Hz, switching smoothly between steps like 30Hz, 60Hz, 90Hz, and up to 144Hz. This ensures fluid scrolling, better gaming performance, and improved overall responsiveness.
Brightness is another highlight. The display achieves a peak whole-screen brightness of 1,500 nits, making it easy to view even in direct sunlight. Despite the performance boost, BOE claims the panel uses 20% less power than comparable displays—an important factor for extending battery life in budget phones.
According to BOE, this ADS Pro display will first appear in smartphones priced under $160, giving affordable devices a flagship-level viewing experience.
