Punjab wildlife rescue operations are in full swing as rangers rush to save animals stranded by floods. In Haroonabad, near the Bahawalnagar border, rangers rescued two orphaned Nilgai (blue bull) calves. They were then moved to Bahawalnagar Zoo, where staff now provide bottle-feeding and veterinary care.
So far, teams have saved eight deer and shifted them to medical camps. Moreover, rangers in Sialkot retrieved two deer swept across the border by floodwaters. In Narowal, they treated a pregnant and injured deer. Meanwhile, rescuers in Shakargarh saved a fawn, while further operations in Muridke, Wazirabad, and Mandi Bahauddin led to the safe recovery of five more deer.
In Lahore, rangers also saved six lions trapped at a farmhouse near the Ravi along Multan Road. As a result, the lions are now under proper veterinary supervision.

In addition, she emphasized that the Punjab government gives top priority to animal welfare and will never abandon any creature in distress.
